Q. The homeless man, who was in the doorway when Ron was murdered, was taken in for a free breakfast. I kept wondering in a cold area like Minnesota, where would he have spent the night? Are people actually out in the snow at night there? A. Minnesota has many shelters for the homeless, especially in the winter. Minnesotans know that people can freeze to death without shelter and most towns and cities make povisions. In a town the size of Lake Eden, the churches would be open and the homeless could go in to sleep and get warm. Lake Eden is a friendly town. If the homeless man was new to town and didn't know where the shelters were, either one of the sheriff's deputies or a helpful resident would have taken him there.
Q. Are you thinking of writing a second series? Other than culinary, what would you be interested in writing? A. At one time, I did try to sell a second series. Believe it or not, it was about a professional wrestler who solved crimes. This was my youngest son's idea. At that time, he was enamored with Stone Cold Steve Austin. I did a proposal, but it didn't sell and I can't say I'm sorry.
